Khumjung to Dole to Gokyo

We left Khumjung and climbed up quite high (4000m) then dropped all the way down to the main river, and then hadf to climb a long way up through beautiful rhodedendron forests to Dole (4300). That was our stopover for the night. It was quite bleak...

Next day we set off for Machermo, and visited the porter rescue shelter for a talk on altitude sickness.

Today we walked through beautiful but very harsh landscape to Gokyo (4700m). It was a very tough day for all of us. The extreme cold and wind are so energy sapping. But we are here.
